KPDN investigates Rahmah initiative for school supplies

PETALING JAYA: The Menu Rahmah Initiative school grant concept is being explored to provide relief to low-income parents.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said the ministry will hold talks with stakeholders to get the initiative going from next year.
“In 100 days, we will focus on Menu Rahmah first. However, as a formality, I will try to organize the implementation of the school package so that it is now more organized than Menu Rahmah,” he said after introducing McDonald’s Menu Rahmah here today.
Salahuddin said that for the time being, school aid will still be channeled through the back-to-school scheme, which is run in each parliamentary constituency.
The Menu Rahmah initiative, which offers meals at RM5 and under, was launched in January to help stem the rising cost of living. -Bernama
