It’s time for jingle bells and mistletoe for KOST-FM as the station rocks Christmas music around the Christmas tree 24 hours a day on Friday 11 November at 8am.
Morning presenter Ellen K will flip the switch on her program with the help of a surprise celebrity guest. And then, well, if Christmas is your thing, maybe decorate your ears with holly sprigs?
The tradition is something that fans of 24/7 Christmas music look forward to once Halloween is in their rearview mirror.
The announcement of this year’s date earlier this week may have escaped some listeners due to the elections on Tuesday. (It wasn’t just us, was it?) Although the weather turned horrible outside on election day, maybe that should have been a clue.
The listeners were keen to know when the changeover would take place and have been pestering the KOST social media pages with information for weeks.
“Can not Hardly Wait! All my radio stations in my car will be on 103.5,” Laura Bobadilla wrote on the station’s Facebook page.
“I can’t wait for Friday. I’ll be listening to you all the way from Florida!” wrote Ricardo Alcaraz on the same post.
“So excited! I’m already listening to Christmas music in the car until you start the music on Friday!” added Val Hartley, yes.
KOST also announced that it will be bringing back its holiday party at Disney’s California Adventure on December 7th. Listeners can call weekdays from 6am to 9pm to win four packs of tickets.
There are also daily competitions online through KOST website or social media channels, and ticket giveaways through Smart & Final Stores and KTLA-TV.
