Klein ISD increases starting salary for school police officers by $10,000

SPRING, Texas (KTRK)– As inflation continues to rise, some employers, such as the Klein Independent School District Police Department, are fighting the problem and offering a higher starting salary.

This was announced by the KISD a nearly $10,000 pay rise for new police officers. Effective October 10, the starting salary will increase from $50,800 to $60,000.

The Police Officer position listed on the website includes, but is not limited to, the following job description:

– Follows all Klein ISD and Police Department policies and procedures.

– Responds readily and promptly to all duty calls assigned by the police officer or a supervisor.

– Enforcement of all general and criminal laws of the State of Texas of which the police have knowledge and fall within the purview of the Klein ISD Board of Trustees.

Additional incentive allowances and scholarships are also available, including a 3 percent shift differential, $540 per year for cell phones, and $1500 per year for bilingual scholarships.

The district also announced that it is now hiring police officers, applications are available on the KISD website.
