KBS launches Safe Sports Code March 15: Hannah Yeoh

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Youth and Sport (KBS) will introduce the Safe Sports Code this Wednesday (March 15), which includes the safety aspects in dealing with sexual harassment, bullying and violence.

His Minister Hannah Yeoh (Picture) said the code, previously in the research phase, is now ready for full implementation by her ministry.

“The ministry will make a special announcement about the code.

“The issue of safe sport affects not only women, but also men, as it includes bullying and violence in addition to sexual harassment,” she told reporters after wrapping up the Women’s Day celebrations at ministerial level here today.

The code, which also includes a code of conduct, will be used to address complaints of sexual harassment in the sports industry before it is replaced by the Safe Sports Act in the future. –Bernama
