Variety received a link to a story written by The Blast from the rapper’s rep to report the drawn power firstand only added, according to the news outlet: “This is confirmed”.
The Blast reported Friday night that the rapper’s appearance at the upcoming awards show has been canceled due to “regarding online conduct.” Yes’s team found out about the outlet on a phone call earlier Friday, which cited sources close to Ye.
Sources told The Blast that the rapper’s team decision came as no surprise.
The Blast noted that there are concerns about Ye’s interactions with the comedian Trevor Noah, who will moderate the award ceremony, was involved in the decision. Earlier this week, ye was temporarily suspended from Instagram for 24 hours after using racial slurs to refer to Noah.
On Tuesday night, Noah opened up about Ye and his relationship with his estranged wife. Kim Kardashiansaid during a segment that Kardashian was molested.
“It’s been spun into a story that appears to be entirely tabloid but deserves a little more attention from the general public in my opinion. … I know everyone thinks it’s a big marketing stunt,” Noah called.
“Two things can be true: Kim likes publicity. Kim is also harassed. These things can happen simultaneously,” he added.
Ye is nominated for five Grammy Awards.
