Kanye West deletes all Instagram posts as 24-hour lockdown nears end

Kanye West deleted all of his Instagram posts as his 24-hour ban for attacking Trevor Noah ended with a racial slur on the social media platform.

The move comes after the rapper’s account was suspended from the social media platform for 24 hours after he insulted Noah, the writing partner of Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend Pete Davidson.

Instagram’s parent company, Meta, took action on Wednesday, saying it considers West’s post a violation of the platform’s policies on hate speech, harassment and bullying.

And with just hours until the company’s suspension ended Thursday, West’s account, which has 15.6 million followers, showed zero posts.

Meta confirmed this The Independent that they had deleted content from West’s account and temporarily blocked the account from posting, commenting and sending direct messages.

In his post addressed to Noah, West (now known just as Ye) repeatedly referred to him as a “k**n” after the comedian said the situation between West, his ex-wife and Davidson was “terrifying to watch.”

The phrase is described by Urban Dictionary as a black person who is anti-black.

Noah addressed the post directly by commenting on it.

“You are an indelible part of my life, Ye. So it breaks my heart to see you like this,” he wrote in response.

“I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. However, it worries me when I see you on a path dangerously close to danger and pain… Never forget, the greatest trick racists ever played on black people was teaching us to take away our blackness from one another when we don’t agree. Making us split into shards so we would never unite into one mighty staff.”

Noah is believed to have provoked West’s anger with comments on his show when he addressed the dynamic between the rapper, Kardashian and Davidson.

“What [Kardashian is] It’s terrifying to go through and it puts a spotlight on what so many women go through when they decide to leave,” Noah said.
