For a whopping 11 seasons, the Walking Dead offered fans an ensemble-led post-apocalyptic horror that greatly re-ignited the zombie genre. While there were plenty of seriously dark scenes, emotionally draining moments, and insanely interesting characters, there were a few unnecessary trivia that fans can’t help but troll online, and there’s one scene that caught the eye Jon Bernthal.
The actor, who starred as Shane Walsh in the hit show’s first two seasons, quoted a tweet as labeling one of his previous interactions in the first batch of episodes as “so unnecessary.”
The scene, in which Bernthal’s Shane and Laurie Holden’s character Andrea engage in a brief sexual romp in the former’s car, has several fans laughing their heads off at the sheer stupidity of it all.
The common question in the comments is that the scene provided absolutely no connection to the plot as a whole, nor did it serve to give us any insight into the characters; Whether individually or as a duo. The star clearly agrees with the hilarious and unexpected scene, simply adding a few laugh emojis and adding even more traction to the original tweet. However, his and Holden’s characters were short lived as Andrea left the series after the third season.
Bernthal has continued his streak of strong and fearless performances since parting ways with him the Walking Dead as the main character in 2012. He has since starred in the latest live-action version of comic book anti-hero Frank Castle daredevil and The Punisherwith his recent small screen appearance as Julian Kaye on the Showtime crime drama, American gigolo.
