Jinkx Monsoon delivers a heartfelt message to the LGBTQ community

In a sit-down interview, drag legend Jinkx Monsoon spoke about the recent explosion of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the US and sent a message to the queer community across the country.
Jinkx Monsoon rose to fame after winning season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race. A talented queen with a heart for theater, Jinkx quickly became a fan favorite and has lent her voice to the LGBTQ+ community when needed.
The Queen of queens has not been silent after growing anti-LGBTQ+ laws introduced by Republicans have plagued North America.
Appears on abc newsJinkx Monsoon reiterated her objections to Tennessee’s recently passed draconian laws banning drag performers from public places amid rising anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment across America.
Monsoon’s words follow recent comments from her longtime drag-crime partner, BenDeLaCreme, and RuPaul herself, urging supporters to “bring these stunt queens out of office.”
In a recent interview with 11 hourthe drag legend went on to offer some brilliant advice to LGBTQ+ Americans who may be concerned about laws that violate various LGBTQ+ rights and professions.
βMy message is always, find your community. Sometimes that means you have to move, which sucks. We should be safe wherever we live,” she said called.
“There are places where it’s safe to be queer or a drag queen or trans at any age, and there are places where it’s not. Protect yourself, self-preservation should be at the top of your list of priorities because we need you here, we need you with us to keep fighting for our freedoms and equality.β
“Do what it takes to protect yourself and find your community so you can live your life truthfully and without apologies.”
Jinkx was quick to respond after Tennessee passed a law banning drag performers from performing their shows in front of children. in one Twitter post, Monsoon said: “Ours is a revolution of love, empathy and truth – you can’t ban those things.
“We will fight this battle as our predecessors did: with grace, compassion and, if need be, a stone’s throw.”
