Jennifer Aniston ‘hates’ social media and says she’s ‘not good at it’: ‘It’s torture for me’

Jennifer Aniston is not a fan of social media.

“I hate social media. I’m bad at that,” she told Allure in another main story.

Joining Instagram in October 2019, she admitted she was the “most reluctant person ever,” but explained that she eventually joined when she was “exhausted” by people telling her. She even set a standard back then by gaining 1 million followers in less than five hours. (She currently has 40.7 million supporters.)

She told Allure: “It’s torture for me. The reason I went on Instagram was to start this [haircare] line [LolaVie]. Then the pandemic came and we didn’t start.

So I just stuck with Instagram. It does not fit.”

“I’m really glad we got to experience growing up, being teenagers, being in our 20s without that social media aspect,” Aniston said.

“You see, the internet, big intentions, right? Connect individuals socially, social networks. It goes back to how little children think, compare and despair of themselves.”

In 2015, Aniston opened up to people about how social media caused her to be “concerned.”

She also said she is stressed about the impact social media is having on the younger generation.

“Children don’t talk to each other anymore,” she said at the time. “I was with our own companions from Vermont, and their two children don’t have iPhones or iPads.

They were 9 and 12 and the most interesting teenage adults. See other children on theirs [phones] it makes me sad all the time.”

In December 2019, Aniston revealed her reaction to Instagram temporarily crashing after posting a selfie with her Companions co-stars.

“I have no idea how that happened. There isn’t a more amazed face I could use. I also have to say that I was extremely flattered,” she told Individuals at the time.

Aniston added that despite her initial hesitations, she’s enjoying her “new creative outlet I have” with social media.

Of the decision to join, she said, “because there’s the same difference either way. If you can’t beat them, join them.”

“A lot of my companions were starting to make it happen, and I would rather not have been that person who was left in the sandbox with my arms crossed and said, ‘No!

I won’t play.’ So it’s bullshit,” Aniston said, “of course, kid, there’s a lot of emotionally moving messages as well.” Jennifer Aniston ‘hates’ social media and says she’s ‘not good at it’: ‘It’s torture for me’
