Jamie Lee Curtis is the ultimate trans ally and loving parent

Fans were quick to praise Curtis’ post and her unflagging love and acceptance for her child, with one Instagram user writing, “My hope is that maybe this will make someone with no trans knowledge stop and think and open their mind and heart for.” opening something he’s not yet personally experienced.

“Those of us with a trans family are privileged to see our loved one’s evolution and literal physical and psychological transformation into their true selves and the light that radiates from them and the peace that settles on their spirit.

“I’m so grateful for our more enlightened times and look forward to a time when transgender is just another aspect of being human…sending love to you and your precious daughter.”

This isn’t the first time the scream queen and star of the Halloween Franchise has expressed their support for daughter Ruby and the trans community at large.

After winning Best Supporting Actress for her performance in a trippy interdimensional adventure Everything everywhere at once Last month, Curtis recounted The Today Show that her Oscar she/she has pronouns in honor of Ruby.

“In support of my daughter Ruby, I let her be her/her. I’ll just call them ‘they/them’ and they’re doing great, settling in,” she said.

In a year when the trans community is facing a rising tide of hate and discrimination, with a wave of anti-trans legislation sweeping US and UK athletics, it affirms their new policy of trans female athletes excluding women from sporting events on Trans Day of Visibility. Some kind of ally of public figures has never been more important.

Curtis has two daughters – Ruby and Annie – with actor Christopher Guest.

In 2021, she first shared the news of Ruby’s transition, saying she and her husband “watched with wonder and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby.”
