People posting pictures of their pets online have always been a staple of the social media diet, but when you’re the co-CEO of DC Studios reinventing an entire franchise from scratch, people just won’t get it sit back and enjoy the picture as James Gunn recently rediscovered.
Just recently, a snap of the filmmaker’s cat led to an army of internet sleuths being convinced they’d discovered the identity of an upcoming DC project – which turned out to be spot on when Viola Davis was confirmed to be Amanda Waller would actually direct her own HBO Max spinoff series.
But this time The Suicide Squad And peacemaker Creator offered a harmlessly sane picture of his canine companion, and on the surface it doesn’t seem like the sort of thing destined to lead to widespread debunking The brave and the bold rumours.
Still, one of the very first answers Gunn asked was whether or not speculation about George Clooney of all people was returning The Lightning establishing himself as the new full-time Batman stood up to water.
Not only that, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran was also adamant that a brand new face will be next in line to don the cape and hood.
It probably goes without saying at this point, but Gunn has long since reached the stage where he can’t tweet anything about anything that doesn’t immediately spark a flurry of DC-related questions.
