James Gunn reveals too much about DCU’s wave of new heroes

The power of internet sleuthing should never be underestimated James Gunn discovered firsthand after realizing he may have narrowed the field a bit too much when it comes to the unnamed characters destined to eventually descend to the DCU.
After confirming just over 24 hours ago that five names from Nightwing, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Brainiac, Deathstroke, Jason Todd, Zatanna, the Court of Owls, Mister Freeze, and John Constantine were practically guaranteed to appear sooner rather than later the co-CEO realizes he’s about to be found out.
Bleeding Cool suggested their own lineup of eight comic book favorites they’d like to see in the DCU, and of the above 10, only Nightwing was on the wish list, which also included Jon Kent’s Superman, Vixen, Terra, Arsenal, and Kyle Rayner’s Green Lantern, Vixen, Cassandra Cain’s Batgirl and Static.
Gunn tantalizingly teased that half of them were on the cards before quickly concluding that he really needs to stop cutting the candidates lest his plans get messed up prematurely.
Putting on their investigative hats and diving deep, we can probably conclude that Dick Grayson’s Nightwing is finally making its way to the big screen, as fan-favorite Crimefighter is the only one mentioned in both posts Gunn replied to.
Beyond that though, it’s anyone’s guess. Thankfully, those with a penchant for cinematic universes are also famed for their ability to dig deep enough to uncover hidden secrets long before they’re ready to be revealed.
