Manchester City star Jack Grealish has swapped Nike for Puma in the most lucrative boot deal of any British footballer.
The 27-year-old is understood to have agreed a deal worth around £10million a season.
The contract is expected to run until 2028 and the former Aston Villa playmaker will become the new face of Puma
Grealish had previously signed with Nike as a teenager and has been with them ever since, before now switching sponsors.
It is believed that Nike was unable to handle the finances due to its large portfolio of athletes and that Puma offered a bespoke package.
The forward will wear PUMA Future Ultimate football boots on the pitch. says the German manufacturer.
Grealish joins Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, PSG star Neymar and his Man City boss Pep Guardiola to become an ambassador.
His club, the current Premier League champions, had already signed a deal with Puma in 2019 after Nike pulled out of continuing their kit partnership.
“We want Jack to be one of the most important brand faces in football and culture,” said Johan Adamsson, Head of Sports Marketing at Puma Global.
“His position opens up opportunities to work with many of our fashion initiatives and to work with him on his many personal causes.”
The £10m-a-year deal dwarfs high-earning Gareth Bale and Harry Kane, both of whom have made around £3m a season from lucrative boot deals.
Already an icon for other companies such as fashion brand Gucci and popular audio electronics company Bose, Grealish is now adding Puma to its sponsor collection.
