The state’s first regional county park celebrated its 125th anniversary this weekend in Orange with a party that looked back on its history and celebrated its future.
OC Parks opened the all-day celebration of the founding of Irvine Regional Park in 1897 by unveiling a new archway shield welcoming visitors.
Throughout the day there were historical demonstrations, performances and nature presentations.
The nearly 1,200-acre park features picnic and playground areas, a zoo, nature center, train rides, hiking trails, fishing lakes and more.
