In the Disney designed city of Florida

IF you’ve ever wanted to live in a place built by Disney, you can if you go to Florida.
The town of Celebration near Disney World was originally designed by the Disney team in the 1990s.

More than 11,000 people currently live there. The first residents moved there in 1996 after a lottery in which would-be locals had to pay $1,000 to have a chance.
The town is home to more than 100 homes, as well as shops, restaurants, and offices, many of which are painted in Instagrammable pastels.
There are also six churches, a library, post office, school and dog park, and a former cinema converted into an ice cream shop.
According to the New York Times, Disney no longer owns most of the town after selling it in 2005 for a whopping $6.5 million.
However, they continue to operate services like Smart City Telecom and Reedy Creek Energy Services to serve residents.
The city is even connected to Disney World via World Drive near the Magic Kingdom.
Dan Rudgers, one of the first residents of the town who still lives there, told the Guardian why he decided to move there: “I think it was the way Disney does things.
“They knew the parks and streets would be clean, the lawns would be cut, all the houses would look the same, it would be family-oriented, and everything would work just right.”
Erin Ajello, whose family lives there, told Insiders that there are perks, such as: B. that roads are repaired quickly and the roads are relatively quiet most of the time, although there are few shops for basic necessities, which she said she needs to go to Target or a nearby supermarket for.
She also said that most of the city is full of elderly residents or those with health conditions due to its proximity to the nearby AdventHealth Celebration health service.
And Celebration has hit the media in recent years for a number of obscure reasons.
In 2010, the city’s first homicide was reported after a 58-year-old retired teacher was killed, while in 2020 a 44-year-old man was charged with killing his wife and three children.
And people looking to visit might be disappointed to see very few Disney memorabilia or designs throughout the city, although there are sightseeing tours in vintage Mickey-colored red and black cars.
Disney has announced plans to build another residential city that will have houses, a hotel and even a giant lagoon.
Disney Imagineers, who design everything in the theme parks, will be behind the huge project, although it will have nothing to do with Disneyland.
Cotino will be a 618-acre development near Palm Springs, California, as part of Disney’s new storyliving communities that will be “infused with the company’s special magic.”
1,900 houses will be built, ranging from single-family homes to larger properties, as well as a quarter for residents over 55.
Also on site will be shops and a 400-room beachfront hotel, as well as a 24-acre lagoon open to the public for swimming.
And Walt Disney even wanted to build his own “utopian cities” – the land of Epcot was the prototype for what stands for Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow.
