In Britain’s “WORST” Greggs with overflowing bins and “crime scene” seating – but customers love it for a reason

CUSTOMERS have called one Greggs the ‘WORST’ in the UK – it has overcrowded bins and seating that looks like a crime scene.
Although some customers have criticized the Greggs on Fitzroy Street in Cambridge, other customers said they keep coming back to bake more steaks.

Greggs customer Adam Bailey told The Sun Online that his vegan sausage roll was “c**p” and that the shop “looked like a crime scene”.
He added that the toilets were out of order, with a sign saying “Sorry for any inconvenience”.
Adam also said bins were overflowing – but he praised the hard-working staff who served a long line of customers.
Nik Tesanovic, a 19-year-old university student, said, “I’m not complaining,” while eating a bacon and cheese wrap.
“If this is the worst then show me the best,” added his friend Adam Winter, 22.
Another student claimed that the chain was mediocre overall, and that this branch was no worse than others.
He said: “It’s actually pretty tasty for Greggs. But the bar is set low.
“I eat here often. Not because the food is good, but because it’s convenient.”
But even more unforgiving customers have blasted the cafe on Tripadvisor.
They slammed the “very rude staff” and “dirty tables”, with one even claiming it was the worst in the UK.
Another agreed, calling it the worst cafe they had ever set foot in.
This was echoed by another who was too afraid to put her bag on the floor because it was so dirty.
The outlet was rated 2.5 out of five on the ratings website, ranking 120th out of 135 fast food cafes in the university city.
Rebecca Smith emerged with her four-year-old son Nathaniel and mother Christine, 75, with a box of Belgian rolls.
The 47-year-old said: “Sometimes the tables are a little messy and I avoid using the toilets which aren’t that nice.
“But the staff are very nice and it’s always busy – so they must be doing something right.”
PIZZA PAIN
Jayan Patel, visiting the city from Bilston in the West Midlands, was extremely disappointed with his long-awaited slice of pepperoni pizza.
The 11-year-old said: “It’s awful” and pulled a disgusted face after trying a bite.
However, Debra Rutherford, 52, who came to visit her daughter at university, was more than satisfied with the taste of her meal.
“It tastes the same as other Greggs places, but the cafe isn’t very clean.
“In fact, it’s disgusting. There is chaos everywhere.”
One student, Lara Greening, was “very happy” with her vegan sausage roll, claiming it was “very reasonably priced.”
And Danielle Szerszon, 40, also enjoyed enjoying her cheese and onion casserole while daughter Anabelle quickly destroyed a slice of pepperoni pizza.
“The food is good,” she said, “and I’ve always found the staff very nice. But the toilets are dirty – you have to be really desperate to use them.”

A woman in charge named Donna was shocked by Trip Advisor’s scathing reviews and denied staff were rude to customers.
Greggs has been contacted for comment.
