I’m naming my daughter after two Disney princesses – I’m worried it might sound ‘silly’ and ‘too much’, it’s divided people

A WOMAN who gave her daughter a name from the same stable as Mickey Mouse has discovered that everyone has an opinion on it.
She’s plucked a few names straight from the heart of Disney Land.

But for this mother it was no longer happy after that.
She and her husband had very different reasons for choosing their little girl’s first name.
However, mom was concerned about the reaction to her selection and turned to one of the Reddit forums for advice.
There she revealed her favorite names for her newborn.
“We will choose Aurora because one of my and my husband’s dreams is to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis),” she explained.
But there was another reason for the name Aurora.
“It’s my favorite Disney princess and I think she’s beautiful.”
Aurora was also known as Sleeping Beauty in the 1959 classic film.
The first name was decided, they had trouble finding a middle name to complement it.
“We’re having a hard time finding a middle name that fits Aurora,” she confided, “and the Ariel idea came up.”
She swore that she and her husband were “mature adults” when explaining why they liked Ariel.
“It means lion of god whom I love,” she said.
But there was room for another Disney princess: “Ariel is my husband’s favorite princess,” she admitted.
Ariel was the protagonist in Disney’s animated film The Little Mermaid.
After an initial enthusiasm for Aurora Ariel, she began to question her decisions.
“I’m afraid that’s a bit much,” she confided to the forum.
The comments section was open and honest in feedback.
Nothing more than this comment: “I think both names are quite unrelated,” he said, before pointing out that “in the UK, Ariel is also a popular laundry detergent.”
He continued, “It’s a bit silly to have two Disney princess names and it cheapens them in a way. Also, they might not be the best when they grow up.”
But this commenter was another Disney fan, so he adored his choices.
“I love both names. I feel like “Ariel Aurora” flows a little easier. But to be honest, hardly anyone uses first and middle names other than parents and legal documents.”

However, she added something thought-provoking: “I hope your daughter loves Disney.”
But the last thought to this viewer who wasn’t thrilled with the name but it was her baby was: “It sounds silly to me, but maybe not to you! Go with what you like,” she said.
