I’m a phone expert, here are the 3 steps you need to take before your phone gets stolen
A PHONE expert has revealed three ingenious steps you need to take before your iPhone gets stolen.
This nifty trick might help you with that – here’s how it works.
First put your phone on airplane mode.
You must disconnect from the Internet.
Go to Settings > Face ID > Passcode > Allow access when locked.
Then disable Control Center and USB access.
Make sure your privacy location services are turned on.
After that, go to Apple ID > Find My and turn on Find My iPhone and Find my Network.
Click Send Last Location.
Now your iPhone should remain discoverable – even when it’s turned off.
Instagrammer @applesign shared the video with his 1.8million followers – and fans were quick to share their appreciation.
The video garnered a whopping 454,200 likes.
Fans went to the comments section to post.
One said: “Thank you! I needed this thing in my home country, it is necessary.”
A second chimed in: “Thanks for the tips.”
It is because phone theft has become a common occurrence.
So it’s important to be on guard and try to protect yourself.
MyLondon even revealed the capital’s phone theft hotspots – even recording a whopping 5,911 stolen phones in Westminster.
How to prevent cell phone theft
Crimestoppers has provided some advice on how to best protect yourself from cell phone theft.
- Be aware of your surroundings and always pay attention to what is going on around you.
- Try to limit the time you spend on your phone in public.
- Keep an eye out for someone on a bike or moped around you.
- Don’t text while you’re walking – you’ll become less aware of what’s going on around you.
- If possible, try to stand with your back to the wall when you’re on the phone so no one can come up behind you.
- Don’t keep your credit card on the back of your phone cover
It’s not the only trick to help you get the most out of your iPhone.
TikToker Katarina Mogus has revealed how she uses AirTags with an app on her phone.
The app tracks when your suitcase appears on the conveyor belt at baggage claim – or if it’s still at the departure airport if you’re unlucky.
In the video she says: “You can actually track it and know where the luggage is at all times.”
Meanwhile, another TikToker showed how you can track your friends’ flights with a hidden iPhone feature.
Also, Samsung fans have revealed a clever hack to solve one of the phone’s biggest problems.
It will instantly improve your Samsung experience – especially if you have a big phone – and it’s completely free.
