I’m a Michelin starred chef – I’ve been to the best McDonald’s in the UK…that’s why it was so good

A MICHELIN STAR chef visited Britain’s best McDonald’s – and shared the top-notch options that make it so good.

Gareth Ward, who runs a Michelin-starred restaurant, said there was something different about the Welshpool, Wales branch.

The fast food chain is one of the most popular in the world, with more than 38,000 restaurants selling their burgers and fries in over 100 different countries.

But many fans have called this branch the best.

The McDonald’s at Enterprise Park in Welshpool, Powys has been dubbed the world’s best by fans, who commented on the stylish atmosphere and delicious food.

One of his admirers is chef Gareth Ward, who has two Michelin stars, five AA rosettes and a multi-award winning restaurant.

That told Wales Online It was on a different level than other Maccy Ds restaurants elsewhere.

Gareth said: “I’m telling you now, Welshpool McDonald’s is on another level. It just got different [elements] to everyone else.

“It’s just absolutely awesome.

“Last time I had a crispy chicken and it definitely had something like truffle mayonnaise. I don’t think so, but it tasted so good.”

He’s not the only one singing his praises.

Gareth revealed: “Everyone I speak to says this is by far the best McDonald’s in the world. Welshpool McDonald’s, that’s what it’s about.”

Many fans have taken it upon themselves to write rave reviews about the industry – it’s clear why it’s so popular.

One review read: “Quick and efficient service and quiet as the kitchen is not visible.” The food was good quality. One of the best McDonald’s in the UK.”

A second said: “Visited here late at night with my partner and 3 young children on our way back from holiday. The children were very tired. I just wanted to write how amazing the staff is at this restaurant.

It added: “If I happen again I will definitely stop again.”

The restaurant opened in May 2021 by franchisee Bob Beckett.

McDonald’s recently made headlines when it made some changes to its menu.

Meanwhile, a Maccy’s outlet once dubbed the ‘worst’ in Britain, with ‘cold’ burgers that ‘taste like cardboard’ has undergone a major transformation.

The Kingswinford branch, West Midlands has in the past been criticized by customers for poor service, bad food and “order mix-ups”.
