‘I find him unbearable’ – The French world champion explains why he is ‘happy’ that Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is out for the season

Neymar’s injury has left his season in tatters but he has no sympathy from a prominent member of the French media.
Former Birmingham City, Barcelona and AC Milan striker Christophe Dugarry has lashed out at the Paris Saint-Germain superstar after it was revealed he will be out for the remainder of the season.

The 1998 world champion slammed the Brazilian, saying his injury could give Christophe Galtier’s side a huge boost.
Dugarry, who has made a number of controversial statements on French TV studios, said: “I’m happy for PSG that Neymar is injured.
“I think this is an incredible opportunity, an incredible stroke of luck for Christophe Galtier.
“The team is much more balanced with five defenders, three midfielders and Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi up front.
“I can’t see him anymore, I can’t stand him anymore.
“I find him unbearable in his dribbling and with this attitude.

But there was no sympathy from Dugarry, who played for Birmingham
“I don’t want to see him on the pitch anymore, I’m tired.”
Neymar suffered an ankle injury in a clash with Lille’s Benjamin Andre during PSG’s entertaining 4-3 win over their Ligue 1 rivals last month.
The 31-year-old had to be carried off the pitch with tears in his eyes, but initial tests showed no broken ankle.
However, it has since emerged that the Brazil international will need an operation and has flown to Doha, Qatar for the operation.
And it will rule him out for up to four months after injuring the same ankle that struggled at the World Cup in Qatar in the winter.
That means his season is over and it could be the last time he ever plays with Lionel Messi, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

It could be the last time he plays with Messi
Neymar’s absence complicates PSG’s task when they meet Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Ligue 1 champions are a goal behind after a 1-0 defeat in the first leg at the Parc des Princes, while Bayern are unbeaten all season at the Allianz Arena.
But Galtier has changed the line-up to try to make up for Neymar’s injury, using Messi and Kylian Mbappe up front in a two, while playing a three-against-back system that has seen big victories over Lille and Marseille scored.
It has led Messi to insist PSG will be able to close their scoring deficit to the German giants while his contract in Paris continues to expire.
