I drive a fake police car – people say it’s illegal but so far I’ve been fine

A MAN has revealed on social media that he drives a fake police car but has not had any trouble with the law so far.
The driver drives a BMW with police livery and finds it amusing that most drivers are afraid to overtake him on the Autobahn.

User @liamtalkscars has a TikTok profile full of videos showing his fake police car.
He also says because most motorists mistake his vehicle for a real police car, they treat him differently.
He recently uploaded a video showing dozens of vehicles behind his fake police car on the freeway.
He captioned the video: “Your car doesn’t look like a police car – you too: afraid to pass me.”
In a separate video, the man shows the specially designed handbrake system in his car and reveals a little more about the actual use of the vehicle – as part of a film unit on set during various scenes.
Under the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989, private vehicles are not permitted to use Battenburg retro-reflective markings.
Battenburg markings are a pattern of highly visible markings currently seen on many types of ambulance vehicles in the UK.
The video went viral on TikTok with 5.9 million views – and had 987 comments.
Users were quick to comment on the video.
One said: “If the owner got a pound for all the times he was asked if it was legal, he would drive a Lambo.”
Another said: “I never understand the fear of overtaking a police car. I always do it.”
A third pointed out: “That must be illegal.”
The poster replied, “It’s perfectly fine.”
