How to listen to Today explained on the radio

From April 4th you can listen Explained today on many local public radio stations in the US, with more being added regularly. That’s because we’re working with WNYC to bring our daily news podcast to stations from New Hampshire to Portland and many regions in between.

Don’t worry, we’re still releasing episodes on your favorite podcast platforms Monday through Friday. We’re just giving you one more way to hear the show, say, as you drive through Michigan on the way to the long overdue vacation or in between when partying carnival.

Listeners within earshot of these stations and wireless networks may experience the following.

why do we take Explained today to the radio?

Not everyone is a podcast listener (yet), and we want to reach as wide an audience as possible. By partnering with local public radio stations, we connect with journalists who share our mission of empowering people with the information and insights they need to understand the world and the communities in which they live.

Is anything changing about the show? Do we still get songs?!

Explained today It’s always evolving and we don’t want to rest on our laurels – all 1,000+ episodes of it. We’ve continually updated the show over the past four years, most recently adding Noel King as our newest host. This change allows us to plan for even more ambitious series and field reports from Sean Rameswaram, Noel and all Explained today Team.

However, the spirit of the show remains unchanged. Every day the show helps our listeners by diving deep to explain a story or problem.

And yes, there always will be original songs.
