Houston Fire Department units rescue two civilians trapped in a ditch at a construction site at Bomar Street and Montrose Boulevard

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — According to authorities, two people were rescued after becoming trapped in a ditch near a construction site in central Houston.

Houston Fire Department rescue teams were called to a scene in the 1900 block of Montrose Boulevard at Bomar Street after receiving a report of trapped people.

The two civilians were safely recovered and both were taken to hospital for further evaluation.

According to the HFD, it is unclear whether the two were construction workers.

The scene is still active and residents are being asked to avoid the area due to heavy traffic.
