Houston Fire Department rescues 2 construction workers trapped in a ditch at the construction site at Bomar Street and Montrose Boulevard

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — According to authorities, two construction workers were rescued after becoming trapped in a ditch near a Houston construction site.

Houston Fire Department rescue teams were called to a scene in the 1900 block of Montrose Boulevard at Bomar Street after receiving a report of trapped people.

The workers were safely recovered and taken to hospital for further evaluation, HFD said.

How the two managed to fall into the trap is still unclear.

According to officials, there were no other reported injuries at the scene.
