Houston Crime: 2 of 3 youths in custody after a car theft led to a car chase near Kashmere Gardens in northeast Houston, police say

HOUSTON, TX (KTRK) — Three carjacking suspects led police in a 20-minute car chase in northeast Houston on Saturday morning, authorities said.

Houston Police Department officers responded to a reported stolen vehicle around 1 a.m

The three suspects, two of them teenagers, led police in a chase near Kashmere Gardens, police said.

After driving north on Beltway 8 and around the loop, the suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle and ran away.

A Houston police officer is then seen on video jumping over a fence to catch the suspects.

The suspects eventually stopped at 5100 Wipprechtstrasse, where they were taken into custody, police said.
