Houston crime: 2 men shot dead at Tai Loi restaurant on Bellaire Boulevard in the Alief area may have been assaulted, police say

ALIEF, Texas (KTRK) — Two people died after several men entered a Thai restaurant in the Alief area and opened fire, police said.

The shooting took place around 11 p.m. Wednesday at the Tai Loi restaurant on the 12300 block of Bellaire Boulevard near Cook Road.

Witnesses told Houston police that one to three men armed with handguns broke into the restaurant and shot two men who were eating dinner in a booth.

After the shooting, witnesses said the suspects fled.

Investigators are looking for surveillance footage in the area.

Officials believe the victims were targeted.

Investigators said it was unclear how many people were in the restaurant at the time. When officers arrived at the scene, only the two victims and staff were present.
