Hillsborough County announces school closures

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County’s schools will close Monday as the county can prepare to use the buildings as shelters ahead of Tropical Storm Ian.

The school district announced that all schools will be closed Monday, September 26 through Thursday, September 29.

The district said school principals coordinate the opening of shelters, school bus drivers help transport evacuees and student nutritionists prepare meals for those in the shelters.
