LOS ANGELES — Health officials are warning of a possible spike in new COVID-19 cases this fall and winter as new subvariants emerge.
The Los Angeles Times reports that pundits are keeping an eye on a handful of Omicron subvariants. They say the number of mutations made them very different from what we’re used to.
Antiviral treatments have also not been as effective for some. Neither of these variants are currently in widespread use in the United States.
Officials recommend getting updated booster shots.
