Harvey fire: Three police officers injured at an Illinois apartment building on Broadway Avenue at East 154th Street, neighbors say

1 person jumped from a window to escape as flames ripped through the roof, neighbors said
HARVEY, Ill. (WLS) — A police officer was among three people injured in an apartment fire in a southern suburb on Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The large fire broke out in a building on Broadway Avenue at East 154th Street in Harvey. The Harvey Fire Department was dispatched there around 4:50 p.m

“Everyone out here you see lost pretty much everything today,” said one man.
People living in the building said at least one person jumped out of a window to escape as flames erupted from the roof.
Two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition, the fire department said. A Harvey police officer was injured trying to rescue a person who jumped from the third floor.
“I just moved here. I just moved into this building and lost everything,” said one woman.
The fire was under control by 7:51 p.m., firefighters said. It is not yet clear if anyone is seriously injured and there is no word on the cause.
