Hard commute expected – no outbound Kennedy Express lanes

Emergency sidewalk repairs resulting in lane closures on I-94/I-90

CHICAGO — Emergency closures are in place on the Kennedy Expressway.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday that two right lanes of incoming I-94/90 will be closed at Division Street. In addition, the express lanes remain in the direction of travel during the afternoon rush hour and into the evening, IDOT said.

The emergency services are working on emergency repairs to the road.

Drivers should expect delays and should allow extra time.

Repairs are expected to be completed and lanes to reopen later on Friday. At this point, the express lanes will resume their normal schedule.
