Grinchmas, Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter returns November 25 at Universal Studios – Orange County Register
Though the theme park is in the midst of its annual spooky thon Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood is already thinking about packing up the skeletons, ghosts and goblins and decking out the park with millions of twinkling lights as it transitions into the holiday season beginning Friday , 25. November.
Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will bring the spirit of the season to life in Hogsmeade Village, which will be completely transformed into a winter wonderland, with whimsical decor lining the streets, windows and doors of each little shop. Guests can indulge in seasonal hot Butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks and Hog’s Head Pub and catch daily a cappella performances by the Hogwarts Frog Choir.
At night, Hogwarts Castle becomes the main attraction when The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle returns, casting a stunning light projection show onto the castle’s surface, along with a musical score featuring selections from the Harry Potter franchise.
The Grinch is also back, along with his trusty canine companion Max and other Who-Ville characters from How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the brightly decorated Universal Plaza. The 65-foot-tall Grinchmas tree will be on display and there will be nightly tree lighting ceremonies where guests can listen to the Grinch tell his holiday story before lighting thousands of LED lights on the tree and unleashing a swirl of snow on the crowd.
Adjacent Universal CityWalk will also be decked out, with a 40-foot-tall Christmas tree right in front of Universal Cinema, and Voodoo Donut will also feature seasonal flavors in honor of the holiday.
All holiday activities take place daily until January 1st and are included in the entrance fee. Tickets start at $104-109 for general admission for one day; $179-189 for Universal Express; and $379 for the VIP experience. All passes are available at universalstudioshollywood.com.
