Graeme Souness refuses to apologize for Casemiro comments in Gary Neville video ahead of Liverpool v Manchester United

Gary Neville has tried to apologize to Graeme Souness for his comments about Casemiro earlier this season.
The midfielder has been a revelation at Manchester United this season after joining from Real Madrid for £70m.

Casemiro helped United lift their first trophy since 2017
He helped them secure their first silverware in six years when they won the Carabao Cup.
The 30-year-old was signed to a six-year contract in the summer and was one of the season’s newcomers. He helped manager Erik ten Hag change the fortunes of the club in a matter of months.
In August, Liverpool legend Souness admitted to talkSPORT that he was less than impressed with the signing of the five-time Champions League winners.
“He played with great players. He’s not a great player. He’s never been a great player.
“I see him as a consistent Eddie who will help United become more solid in midfield.
“I don’t think he has a huge range of passes. I don’t think he will help other people play.

Casemiro has quickly become a fan favorite at Old Trafford
“I think he was lucky to be in this Real Madrid team. I never look forward to seeing Casemiro. [Karim] Benzema, definitely. Definitely the other midfielders.
“I never thought, ‘I’m really looking forward to seeing Casemrio play today’.”
“He’s 30 years old and it’s £70million. Too much money. It’s Manchester United again.
“Manchester United will pay a premium because it’s Manchester United and the Premier League and people know it’s inundated with money. But I don’t see him making them any better when they have the ball.”
Neville tried in vain to get Souness to apologize
Ahead of Sunday’s Liverpool-Manchester United clash at Anfield, Neville tried his best to apologize to Souness on Instagram live for those comments.
Neville: “Can we have an excuse? Your call to Casemiro, change your mind? They said he was a good player and not a great player.”
Soul: “No, I said he was a consistent Eddie.”
Nevil: “He’s more than a consistent Eddie.”
Soul: “In this position, I would be happy to be referred to as the consistent Eddie.
Neville: “But he’s more than a consistent Eddie, he surprised even me.”
Soul: “I would call Casemiro a base piece. You can build your team on this. I like him, there is nothing wrong with him.”
Neville: “Is he better than you thought? He’s better than I thought.
Soul: “No, I’ll tell you what he does better than I thought was scoring goals, which isn’t really his forte.”
