Governor Eric Holcomb was hospitalized with pneumonia

(WANE) — Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb was diagnosed with pneumonia on Thursday and was rushed to a hospital. according to statement by Holcomb’s publicist Erin Murphy.

The explanation, provided by Holcomb’s Twitter account, said Holcomb initially thought he had the flu instead of pneumonia.

Holcomb was taken to hospital as a precaution and is responding well to treatment, the statement said.

Suzanne Crouch, Lt. gov. of Indiana, issued a statement Friday regarding Holcomb’s diagnosis:

“I was in touch with his staff today and it’s good to hear the governor is doing well and responding to treatment. I will pray for him for a speedy recovery.”
