Gonzalo Lopez update: Authorities are offering $50,000 reward for escaped TDCJ occupant who stole and crashed bus near Centerville, TX

Correctional officials say the convicted killer managed to escape from his cell, steal a transport bus with occupants on board and then crash it before escaping on foot Thursday.
The search in Leon County, Texas, about 116 miles north of Houston, is for 46-year-old Lopez.
According to the Texas Department of Justice, the accident happened on Highway 7 near the city of Centerville. None of the occupants or officers on the bus were injured.

“We will not rest until Lopez is caught,” said executive director Bryan Collier. “I would like to personally thank all the authorities who are helping with this massive search and the authorities who are contributing to the reward. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Crime Stoppers tip line.”
Lopez is serving a life sentence for capital murder in Hidalgo County, Texas and attempted capital murder in Webb County, Texas.
Authorities say if you see Lopez, do not approach him and call 911 immediately.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is offering a $35,000 reward, US Marshals is offering a $10,000 reward, and the TDCJ OIG is offering a $5,000 reward.
