Gamers are going wild for the cheap must-buy Xbox expansion – it’s a total game changer

The XBOX Series S is the most affordable console for gamers, but it’s a bit lacking in storage.

If you have a large game library, deleting each game to make room for your next purchase can be frustrating.

However, Xbox opted for proprietary memory expansion, similar to the old PlayStation memory cards.

This means that they are often much more expensive than the usual expansion memory.

The first expansion cards were released three years ago with the Xbox Series X|S.

They were originally priced at $219.99 (£199.99) for 1TB of extra storage, which is almost the same price as the cheaper Series S consoles.

Since then, 512GB and 2TB cards have been released, but they’re still far more expensive than standard storage upgrades.

Since the PS5 works with any expansion, its users will be able to upgrade much cheaper.

However, it is much more difficult to install and requires a bit of technical know-how.

While the Xbox memory cards are easy to insert and use, the high price still deterred many gamers from using them.

However, a listing has been spotted for a new Xbox memory card that costs just $179.99 (£145).

That’s a savings of about 20% or the price of a new game to play on your upgraded console.

Even with that reduction, it’s still a lot cheaper to buy standard memory upgrades, which cost around $80-$100 (£65-80).

Still, it’s a welcome addition for Xbox fans who’ve been waiting for a cheaper storage expansion solution.
