Gal Gadot breaks Wonder Woman’s silence to share the ‘Quantumania’ star casting shadows on DC

While we know Henry Cavill is going to be Superman, we’re pretty sure The Lightning will be Ben Affleck’s final appearance as Batman, it’s currently unclear if GalGadot could return as Wonder Woman in James Gunn’s rebooted DCU. Director Patty Jenkins has certainly parted ways with the studio, but it’s unclear if that’s the case justice league star follows her out the door, thanks to Gadot, who maintains a radio silence on social media on all things DC. That said, until now the actress has shared something open to many interpretations.
Gadot took to her Instagram story to share a clip The Kelly Clarkson Show with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniais Evangeline Lilly. In it, Lilly is played by guest colleague Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks) on her ideal superhero crossover, with the Marvel Vet expressing interest in a Wonder Woman/Wasp team. On the one hand, Gadot reposting the video might suggest that if she’s so supportive of Lilly’s dream, she’s determined to return.
On the other hand, Lilly has some choice words to say about her feelings at DC in this clip, which makes Gadot’s decision to share it all the more charged. “I’m usually really down on DC,” he says Lost admits icon and decides not to mince his words. “I’m just going to be honest here. Really down on her.” Basically, don’t expect Evangeline Lilly to show up in Gunn’s franchise anytime soon.
If we were to read between the lines, we could perhaps speculate that Gadot is still as passionate and committed to the character of Wonder Woman as ever, but perhaps a little less connected to the DC brand at this point. Still with the Themyscira theme paradise lost Prequel TV series in the works, Diana Prince may yet return. Just don’t hope for that Wondy/Wasp crossover.
