FWPD encounters active firing during patrol in south-east neighborhood; suspect arrested

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) — Suspects were arrested Tuesday at the scene of a shooting that left no one injured, Fort Wayne police confirmed to WANE 15.

Officials said they were patrolling the Gaywood Drive and Senate Avenue area around 1:30 p.m. when they encountered active shooting.

FWPD said they took “several people” into custody. According to the police, there were no injuries.

The investigations are ongoing.
