Fountain Valley’s fatal crash by cyclist; Driver charged with manslaughter – Orange County Register

A motorist was arrested Saturday, January 15, after a 71-year-old cyclist was fatally stabbed by Fountain Valley police, who said he was a drunk driver, speeding and fleeing. .

The cyclist was identified as Liem Bui of Santa Ana.

The collision happened around 5:39 a.m. Saturday. Officers found Bui dead in the southbound lanes of Euclid Avenue, just north of Heil Avenue.

Although the car that hit Bui fled, the police said that investigators had identified the identity. Police said they found the car in Westminster with Amanda Martin, 32, of Fountain Valley in the driver’s seat.

Martin was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, hit-and-run felony and manslaughter while intoxicated.

Police asked witnesses to call them at 714-593-4481.
