Fort Wayne Church holds vigil for grieving families

FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – Those who have experienced the loss of a child or wish to support those who have suffered it will be invited to a memorial service at a church in Fort Wayne Sunday evening.

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and the Messiah Lutheran Church is holding a candlelight vigil at 6:00 p.m. to coincide with the national recognition.

“Many families suffer in silence and long to know they are not walking this journey alone,” the church said. “The loss of a child stays with parents, friends and family members forever. These are deeply painful experiences that families face on a daily basis, yet little attention is paid to them.”
