Former OC deputy showed teen girls porn videos, authorities say – Orange County Register

A former Orange County sheriff’s deputy faces criminal charges after prosecutors accused him of showing graphic videos to four teenage girls while he worked as a school resources officer in Mission Viejo.

Justin Raymond Ramirez, 34, has been charged with a misdemeanor for distributing harmful material to minors, according to the Orange County Attorney’s Office.

Ramirez, an Anaheim resident, has voluntarily resigned from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, prosecutors said.

On Sept. 2, 2022, while Ramirez was assigned as the school resource officer at Trabuco Hills High School, prosecutors showed two girls walking to his squad car during lunch “pornographic video of a woman being stabbed.” and “a video that included graphic drug use.”

Prosecutors say the girls called two other girls over, after which Ramirez showed all four of the graphic videos. The four were aged 15 or 16, prosecutors said.

A girl told her mother about the videos, prosecutors said, and the mother contacted the sheriff’s department.

“School-Resource Officers are in our children’s schools to ensure a safe learning environment and to help build trust between law enforcement and our community,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement. “Ramirez had nothing to do with taking a position of trust with children — and he abused that position of trust in a really disgusting way.”

If convicted of the charges, Ramirez faces up to 364 days in county jail.
