Focus shifts on secretary of state races after Biden votes fail
After objections from Sens. Joe Manchin (DW.V.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) Killing President Biden’s attempt to pass federal voting rights legislation by scrapping the film, Democratic organizers are preparing suffering for a difficult road ahead, New York Times report.
Biden’s bill will replace election security law that many Republican-controlled states, fueled by former President Donald Trump’s baseless accusations of widespread voter fraud, have passed since the 2020 election.

With the bills still in effect, Democrats say they could be forced to redirect hundreds of millions of dollars from candidates to registrations voters and motivate voters to vote.
The failure of Biden’s voting agenda also led to new emergency for secretary of state races broke fundraising records.
One analysis from the Brennan Center for Justice found that secretary of state candidates in Georgia, Michigan and Minnesota have “collectively donated 2.5 times more than candidates at an equivalent point in election cycles.” 2014 or 2018″ HuffPost report.
The state clerks are responsible for overseeing races statewide. Candidates from both parties accuse the other of conspiring to undermine democracy or steal the next election.
