Five people shot dead on parade route in New Orleans: 1 dead, suspect arrested
One person was killed and four others injured in a shooting Sunday night along a parade route during a major tourist weekend in New Orleans, police said.
The incident on the Bacchus parade route occurred around 9:30 p.m. local time at the intersection of St. Charles Ave. and Terpsichore St., a New Orleans Police Department spokesman told FOX News Digital.
Three of the five victims were men, along with a woman and a young girl.

The victims were all taken to a hospital for medical treatment. The girl and all but one of the other victims are in stable condition. The remaining victim, one of the men, was pronounced dead.
A suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting shortly after the shots were fired, police said.
Two guns were also confiscated.

Police were near the scene when shots rang out.
The New Orleans Police Department, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department, Louisiana State Police and Department of Corrections helped respond to the shooting, which is being investigated.
Police are working to gather information about the suspect along with a possible motive and determine if other people were involved.
