Firefighters tackle large forest fire in Campsie Fells
The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed to The Herald that six units were mobilized.
An SFRS spokesman said the alarm went off around 5:54 p.m. Tuesday night.
Footage has been shared online showing huge plumes of smoke billowing from the hills 12 miles north of Glasgow.

A resident who lives near The Campsie Fells shared on social media that he was “under a blanket of smoke”.
Another local wrote that wildfire smoke covered their home “with ash falling on us.”
