Another Friday is coming and the weekend is waiting, we’ve made friends! Before we head out and crack a cold one, we’ve got another week full of fantastic new music releases to share with you.
From the highly anticipated new track from Fazerdaze to stunning new music from Angel Olsen and The Buoys, we’ve got some real treats for you today; So, without further ado, let’s get into this sweet, sweet music.
Fazerdaze – Flood in
With her latest single ‘Flood Into’, singer and multi-instrumentalist Fazerdaze née Amelia Murray has delivered another immaculately crafted and irresistibly catchy composition, now available on all platforms after previously being relegated to vinyl-only status. Set in the larger context of Murray’s cathartic and impactful new EP, Break!, this project marks her return to the limelight after a hiatus of over five years, offering a deliciously nebulous, shoegaze-inspired soundscape set to shimmering vocals, blurry guitars, and a harsh but lustrous aura that is completely and uniquely Fazerdaze.
Angel Olsen – Nothing for free
Angel Olsen, the spirited singer-songwriter who made waves with her acclaimed 2020 album Big Time, will release a new EP of previously unreleased outtakes from the project. The four-track title, titled “Forever Means,” is set to be released on Friday April 14th via the Jagjaguwar label. Accompanying the announcement is the release of “Nothing’s Free,” the EP’s opening track, which Olsen described as an introspective piece about reaching a breaking point where self-denial is unsustainable and the need to truly be yourself is lost can ignore longer. Olsen’s talent for turning such deeply personal reflections into soaring and anthemic folk-rock shines through on this latest effort.
Danika – Down Love EP
Danika, the introspective singer-songwriter known for her unflinching honesty and deft storytelling, has just released her latest EP, Down Love, via the Endless Recordings label. Danika has never been afraid to face the harsh truths of life head-on, using her voice and guitar to capture the ups and downs and the lessons she’s learned along the way. Since joining the Endless Recordings and WAT families, Danika’s star has been on the rise, with a critically acclaimed headlining East Coast tour in 2022 and the release of her acclaimed EP When Love Comes in 2021. Now, in 2023, “Down Love” offers another look at the artist’s impressive songwriting and stirring melodies.
The Vanns – Ever
Australian rockers The VANNS are back with a bang in 2023, releasing the first track ‘Ever’ from their highly anticipated new studio album ‘Last Of Your Kind’. Drawing on experiences and lessons learned from their time on tour and in the studio, the band beautifully melds these elements with new sonic inspirations, resulting in a vibrant and engaging sound that reflects the growth and development of The VANNS.
The buoys – I want you
Australia-based alternative rock group The Buoys have released their latest creation, a lively and electrifying track called ‘I Want You’. Blending slurred guitar riffs with raw, unbridled vocals, the quartet deliver an uncompromisingly dark and gritty anthem that celebrates the thrill of a no-strings-attached romance. The band describes the track as a sonic snapshot of those exhilarating yet fleeting moments when you look that special someone in the eye and silently tell yourself it’s time to go and explore new horizons.
masego – masego
Atlanta’s Masego returns with his sophomore album that showcases his ever-evolving multi-talent and proves he’s a force to be reckoned with in R&B, hip-hop, dance and beyond. Released via EQT Recordings/Capitol Records, the featureless album contains 14 tracks including previously shared hits like “You Never Visit Me”, “Two Sides (I’m So Gemini)” and “Say You Want Me” with haunting backing vocals by Ambre, Destin Conrad and Ari PenSmith.
Casa Rosa – Lone Rider
Sydney-based sibling duo Casa Rosa continue to push the boundaries of alt-indie and country with their latest single “Lone Rider,” which boasts an immersive and introspective sound. The Harpers’ unrelenting passion for experimentation and pushing the boundaries of genre conventions is fully showcased in this enchanting new track.
