Facebook passwords compromised: App owner Meta warns 1 million account users who may have stolen login and password information

CHICAGO– Facebook owner Meta warned that up to 1 million users may have had their credentials stolen.

Meta researchers have discovered more than 400 malicious Android and Apple apps designed to steal personal Facebook logins.

The company said it is targeting users who may be at risk.

The malicious apps disguise themselves as games, photo editors and lifestyle services.

App users are often asked to log in to Facebook, which allows hackers to steal logins and passwords.
