Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant pops up in LA this week

Angelenos hoping for a try, an opportunity to try Eminem’s self-referential restaurant, Mom’s Spaghetti, can grab it this week. The Oscar- and Grammy-winning rapper is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday, and since he’s in Los Angeles for the event, he’s brought something from his Detroit Italian-American restaurant.

On Wednesday, Mom’s Spaghetti, which opened in Detroit in September 2021, took over the downtown location of Italian-American sandwich shop Uncle Paulie’s Deli and added its own awning and tattoo-inspired signage featuring a heart and fork, accompanied by a banner with the Labeled “Mom’s Spaghetti.”

The pop-up runs through Sunday night with walk-up orders available at downtown Uncle Paulie’s and Postmates delivery orders originating from the Pasta Sisters restaurant’s Pico and Culver City locations. The uncomplicated menu includes red sauce “that tastes like it came straight out of the jar”, garlic butter Texas toast on the side and parmesan “with power”.

There’s veggie spaghetti ($10), spaghetti with hand-rolled beefballs ($14), spaghetti with vegan black bean and quinoa meatballs ($15), and the “s’ghetti” sandwich ($13) that stacks spaghetti and slices of mozzarella between two slices of Texas toast. On opening day, a line stretched down the downtown block of the pop-up.

A promotional video posted to Eminem’s Instagram proclaimed, “Get your sweaters ready Los Angeles,” as the rapper fake vomited towering over the downtown LA skyline – all in reference to the lyrics of the restaurant’s inspiration, his song “Lose Yourself”.

The Personal LA Pop-up is located at 820 S. Spring St., Downtown Los Angeles Thursdays from 4pm to 9pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm, and Sundays from 4pm to 8pm. Postmates delivery orders can be placed between 12pm and 9pm on Sunday.

Uncle Paulie’s menu is not available in Downtown during the takeover, but can be found at the new sibling placescheduled to open Sunday at 8053 W. 3rd St., Los Angeles. Eminem’s Mom’s Spaghetti restaurant pops up in LA this week
