Eddie Izzard has revealed a new name for people to refer to her by, which she’s wanted to use since she was 10 years old.

The comedian-actor-turned-politician announced the new name on Monday (March 6) episode of Matt Forde’s podcast The Political Party.

“I’m Eddie. There’s another name I’m going to add, and that’s Suzy, and that’s what I’ve wanted to be since I was 10,” The Independent quoted Izzard as saying, “I’m going to be Suzy Eddie Izzard.”

The star went on to say that she’s wanted to use that name since she was a child, but that people can still refer to her as Eddie if they want to, saying that “they can’t go wrong.”

“That’s how I’m going to roll, so people can choose what they want. You can’t go wrong, you can’t go wrong,” she said on the podcast.

“I’m following in the footsteps of great people who have already done hard work,” she said.

Adding: “I have to give a shout out to the entire gay and lesbian community and all the queer people from the ’60s who have stood up.”

“Because when I came out as trans in 1985, the main thing I could look at was gay and lesbian cousins who were doing a great job and positive attitude, so I figured I need to come out, I need to do this to help bring you.” the ‘T’ in LGBTQ.
