Ed Sheeran and Adele are reportedly too busy to perform for Charles during his all-important coronation

British pop stars Ed Sheeran And Adele is at the coronation concert for King Charles III. will not perform on May 7th.

Per The Mail on Sunday, Adele turned down the King’s request to sing at the concert, while Sheeran was never officially invited but revealed he was unavailable. An organizer revealed that Sheeran and Adele’s absence was a disappointment because the British public was referring to them and their performances added value to the concert.

“The King suggested a number of people he would like to play and Adele and Ed were on that list. He was very interested that they were part of the concert. A team was set up to sign the talents but they weren’t available which was a big disappointment. Titans of the showbiz industry, they are quintessentially British, but also well known around the world. It’s such a shame.”

There’s a hint that the stars won’t be attending the coronation concert due to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s estrangement from British royalty. Sheeran and Adele are personal friends of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, and some believe that’s why they turned down King Charles’ offer. Sheeran previously appeared in a video with Prince Harry as part of the 2019 World Mental Health Day campaign. Their easy-going friendship was also evident during a public appearance at the 2021 WellChild Awards.

Adele joked that she had a crush on Harry in 2011. Her affection for the king seemed undiminished when she appeared Vogues “76 Questions” and revealed that she preferred him to his older brother, Prince William.

According to a report in shine, Adele befriended Harry and Meghan at an event in 2018 to support survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire. Later, when the couple moved to Los Angeles, they stayed at Tyler Perry’s house. This happened to be in Adele’s neighborhood, and she became close to the couple.

For now, the rumors remain unconfirmed. It’s possible the stars turned down the opportunity to perform at the coronation concert for other reasons. After all, Sheeran appeared at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant in 2021. He also played at a memorial concert for the late Prince Philip. Adele’s five-month stay at The Colosseum in Las Vegas comes to an end in March.
