Dwayne Johnson tells critics to sit down after being fact checked

Any public figure touting their own accomplishments to millions and millions of people on social media always has an air of riot and exaggeration about it, though Dwayne Johnson got a little too salty after being touted for a record-breaking performance that was anything but.
The actor and producer recently restarted the XFL Football League for a third time in hopes of doing better than his former boss Vince McMahon after the WWE boss twice lost a fortune trying to fulfill his dream, succeeding in anything other than professional wrestling. Things got off to a flying start – no doubt helped by The Rock’s popularity – but Twitter’s curse of misinformation has struck again.
Not to take away from an undeniably impressive performance, The Rock quickly celebrated a crowd of over 35,000 who turned up for a recent game which he described as the biggest attendance ever for spring football. However, when it was pointed out that he wasn’t entirely 100% correct, he made a point of urging the debunker in question to “sit down”.
As luck would have it, almost immediately after being pointed out his error, Johnson deleted the offending tweet in question and replaced it with something much more generic.
35,000 is still not to be scoffed at, but perhaps the 50-year-old will talk to his team about not posting untruths on Twitter anymore. After all, it’s the only place on the internet where you can guarantee that the truth will always prevail in the end… right?
