Dunfermline: Inquiry after fire engulfs derelict building

The incident was reported around 9:15 p.m. Monday.

The fire in the building on Walmer Drive in the city center was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Nobody was injured.

Inspector Neil McGurk said: “The fire is not considered suspicious at this time but an investigation is ongoing to clarify the full circumstances.

“If anyone was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, please get in touch with us. Also if you have dashcam or private CCTV footage that might help with our inquiries.”

Anyone who can help is asked to call Scottish Police on 101 quoting incident number 3690 on Monday 17th July 2023.
